Get your phone line

How the number is bought, why the button is sometimes off, and what the number does once you have it.

The phone line is on the Line and Salon plans. On Free, the Receptionist page shows a link to the plans instead of the button.

On a paid plan, open Receptionist and scroll to Your phone line. Press Get my phone line. Glow Line buys an Australian number for your account, connects it to your assistant, and shows it on the page with the divert codes for Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

The button is disabled until you have saved your services and hours, because the assistant has nothing to say without them. Save the profile first, then press the button.

One number is bought per account, once. It is yours while the plan is paid up. If a payment fails and the plan lapses, the number stops connecting until a plan is chosen again, and callers hear a short notice that the number is not taking calls. When a paid plan ends, the number is given back to the carrier; a new one is bought when you are next on a paid plan. The number is not chosen by you; the next available Australian number is used. Keep your own business number public and divert to this one behind it, so clients never need to learn a new number.
