How it works

From sign-up to the first answered call

Glow Line is set up from your dashboard in one sitting. Here is each step in order, what you do, and what happens on the other end of the phone.

  1. Create your account

Sign up with your business name, email, a password of ten characters or more and your Australian mobile. A six-digit code is texted to the mobile to check it is yours; the email is confirmed by a link. Free needs no card; on a paid plan the card is taken on a secure Stripe page after this step.

  2. Save your services, prices and hours

On the Receptionist page, list each service with a price and a duration, set opening and closing times for each day, and write notes about anything a caller might ask: parking, deposits, what to bring. This is the assistant's whole knowledge, and the booking page's service list.

Name services the way clients ask for them. A caller who asks for a lash fill should hear a price for a lash fill, not for lash extensions in general.

  3. Share your booking page

Your booking page lives at /book/ and your code. Put the link in your social bios, your Google profile and your email signature. Clients pick a service from your list, say when suits them, and are told you will confirm by text. Requests arrive on your Bookings page.

  4. Get your phone line

On Line or Salon, press Get my phone line. Glow Line buys an Australian number for your account and connects it to your assistant. The button stays off until services and hours are saved.

  5. Divert your missed calls

Dial the divert code the dashboard shows for Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. From then on, a call you do not answer within about twenty seconds goes to the Glow Line number. Dial the off code any time to take the phone back.

  6. The assistant answers

It opens: thanks for calling your business, this is the virtual assistant for the team. It answers questions from your list, takes a booking request with the caller's name, mobile, service and preferred time, and says the team will confirm by text. If asked for a person, it takes a message.

It never confirms a time, never quotes a price you did not list and never takes payment details. When it does not know, it says so.

  7. You get the text and confirm

When the call ends, a text reaches your mobile with the request or a summary. The request also sits on your Bookings page with the mobile as a tap-to-text link. You check the book and send the confirmation.

After that

After the first week you will mostly live on the Bookings page and in your messages. Edit the Receptionist page whenever a price changes or a therapist's days change; the next call uses the new list. Your dashboard shows this month's answered calls against your allowance, and Billing shows your plan, next charge, invoices and a cancel button that stops the next charge while your plan runs to the end of what you paid for.

If you outgrow Line's 40 calls, Salon gives you 200 and the enquiry form for your website. If you stop needing the line, cancel any month; when the paid period ends, tick Free's consent on the Billing page and your booking page and inbox carry on.
